Rockstar Games has joined Discord and created GTA 6 server.
No point of buying the current gen consoles then, if we have the next gen consoles a few months to a year away...

No surprise for me and an expected one. Otherwise, they wouldn't keep their mouth shut for 1.5 years since they dropped the first trailer.
They mentioned fall 2025 (basically from September to November) and if it was the finalized date, we may got atleast 2 more trailers by this time before the final and launch trailers.
For the console part, yes. After they skipped the whole 8th generation consoles to release their main gta title, now they try to release their new title for the 9th generation console in end of the life cycle. It will trigger more people.

Why such delays, do they want us to still play San Andreas again and again until 2026 ?

Such delays are understandable and an usual thing especially for this kind of big titles time to time. But they should atleast be honest and transparent with the people about the development.
But this kind of long time silence and announcing the delay will definitely make people feel disappointed and angry. They waited for long time, but still their long wait was worth nothing but to wait even more longer.
