Govt agrees to convert Voda Idea interest dues into equity

Birla's taking lead role for company--- this is great news for BHARAT 2.0

as idea celular brand may come back in form of MVNO and we can expect again strong rural subscriber base as seen earlier with idea

also third thing is 2023 will be rollout year for both Vi and bsnl.

I don't agree with any of your views till equity infusion comes from promoters, atleast 40000-50000 Crores. Vi needs this much to stay in 4G game. Forget 5G. 5G needs much more investment which is gone from Vis hands due to lack of poor decisions taken in 2017-2019 time. Best thing Vi can do is becomes regional operator by 2025. They need to focus on prioritiy circles to be honest to stay in the game. 5G can wait. Next two years will be 4G only as 5G growth will be slowdown due to tariff hike later this year. Vi can still survive if they focus on 4G expansion quickly this year. They are still unbeatable in their priority circles with respect to coverage. But Jio has more spectrum now(Like Vi has 80Mhz in Maharashtra circle, but Jios only band 3 in same circle giving better results overall). With 5G unlimited, Vi has to bring more attractive tariffs along with full focus on metro cities. More spectrum is going to available in 5G as well as 4G in upcoming auctions. Before that, Vi should expand really fast. Vi should not match the tariffs by Airtel and Jio. It should be cheaper than both of these by 100INR and give more tariffs. If Vi gives 199 2GB/day or 3GB/day with night unlimited for 28 days, then Vi will be in the game within next few months just on the basis of priority circle.

They directly can't keep plan prices cheaper because of Jio where they have promised to keep Jio's plan 20% cheaper than competition. This is why you see lots of curated offers for your Vi numbers usually matching Jio's plans with night data and carry over data.

Jio has to keep the prices keep going towards higher number for recovering the 5G deployment cost which will be more than 300000 crores, Jio will finish this deployment in 2025 and preferably buy more spectrum in same year between 3300-4200Mhz(We will come to know that later this year, 200Mhz is necessary for 5G speeds at each operator). Anything less than 499 is not suitable for 5G data plans. Anything less than 10GB/day or 20GB/day is not good enough for 5G speeds. When Jio will announce these plans, Airtel cannot match it because they have NSA technology and then they will have to raise the tariffs as well for SA network upgradation. Airtel will keep NSA technology till 2024 end. Beyond that, Airtel has to start deploying SA network on N78 and possibly buying more spectrum as well. So Airtel users will be on 4G only as Airtel 5G isn't giving more speeds as compared to Airtel 4G. Thats where Vi comes in. Tariffs at Vi should be low and it will gain in to number of customers. December 2024 has 23 months from now on. Vi has good enough time to raise the funds and use that into network expansion. Vi still has chance if they focus on 7 priority circles along with metro cities(like Bangalore, Hyderbad, Chennai, where they are not good at all). If they raise the funds and focus on 4G expansion, they will be in position in twelve to fourteen months and they can start deploying 5G on SA basis since 2025 January. Airtel will be in same position as that of Vi if they cannot attract 5G customers in next eighteen months(Also if Vi aggressively expands their network by raising minimum of 25000 crore).

If Govt. is not going to nominate representative in Vi, then they may be planning on selling off the stake.

So now that GoI is largest Share holder will gov social policy related to employees apply :devilish:🤔
