400 stations done, Google to end its free WiFi journey

The free Wi-Fi program was launched in India back in 2015, and has since been expanded to hundreds of railway stations and thousands of other locations in the country. It was launched in collaboration with RailTel, and was branded as powered by Google RailWire.

Google says that getting online has become much simpler and cheaper compared to five years ago and that mobile data plans have become more affordable and mobile connectivity is improving globally and mobile data per GB is the most affordable in India..

But RailTel will continue to provide service in India which means the Wi-Fi service itself isn't likely to shutdown..

They say WiFi, nothing about Free WiFi. You might need to pay. There is another Tweet on the same by RailTel.
