Google Play Store is the official way for Android users to get Android apps apart from several third-party app stores like Amazon Appstore, GetJar, F-Droid, Samsung Galaxy Apps,App Lib, Opera Mobile App Store to many other sources.

The company is rolling out an easier way for developers to offer their apps for beta testing in the form of ‘Early Access’ program. This is a more streamlined and easier way to become a beta tester. It is a far cry from the previously available method where the users had to request to join a Google+ group or register on beta tester page to join the beta testing. This will also help the developers monitor the feedback and gain a wider test crowd with an even wider range of devices.

Google’s offering has undergone periodic overhauls with the slow rollout of new features including the rebranding from Android Market to Google Play store to integrate Google Music and Google eBookstore. Even though the apps are segregated differently to consume the specific type of media, the distribution is still integrated within the main Store app. Recently, the Google redesigned app icons for Play-branded apps including Play Store, Play Movies & TV, Play Music, Play Books and Play Newsstand.
