Google is making the messaging app Allo even smarter. By adding its Artificial Intelligence-powered text prediction technology to emojis and stickers, Google Allo has introduced a ‘Smart Smiley’ button, which will predict the emojis and stickers you want to use. The new feature will show up as a list of suggested emojis related to what you type. For instance, if you type, let’s go out for a pizza, the Smart Smiley will suggest a pizza emoticon. This is quite similar to the predictive keyboard in Apple’s iOS 10’s iMessage. Presently, Smart Smiley feature is only available in English and will start rolling out for other languages over time. The update is available on both iOS and Android version of the app.

Essentially, the Smart Smileys button is an extension of Google Allo ’s prediction algorithm, which so far has been used to offer users suggested one-tap replies to text messages, which are based on the way a user actually chats. In order to enable the Smart Smileys, just type in the Allo keypad, and type on the ‘Smiley with a magnifying glass’ icon right over the keypad. Those “suggestion chips” will also contain emoji and stickers now.

Google further says that “suggestions for stickers and emojis will change based on the words you write and the sentiment of your message. And if you haven’t started typing, Smart Smiley offers suggestions based on your conversation so the perfect sticker.” In simpler words, Google aims to make the predictive emojis in Allo smarter than the likes of iMessage, enabling the app to differentiate between when it should suggest happy or sad emoji based on the tone of a user’s conversation, even if they aren’t using words like sad or upset.

Catching on the Harry Potter craze, after the company integrated some magic tricks on Google Now, it has now introduced stickers from the Warner Bros film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them on Allo. The app now also comes with a feature that helps users discover new sticker packs. When a friend sends you a sticker from a pack you don’t have yet, you can tap on that sticker to quickly download the pack. Also, Google Allo has some new background themes added to the chat.

Google Allo was launched late in September, and with the messaging app, Google has essentially been aiming to take on the likes of WhatsApp, iMessage and Facebook Messenger by using AI to make the messaging app smarter. Posing a tough competition to the existing online messenger, Google Allo brings in a variety of features to make things interesting. The AI-based messaging app comes with features like WhisperShout, Ink, end-to-end encryption, and incognito mode among others. However, one of the high points of Google Allo has been the app’s smart capabilities. When chatting, the AI monitors the topic of conversation and suggests replies that can be sent with just a tap. According to Google, Allo’s image recognition system is nearly 90 percent accurate.

That's something new from Google.

Themes are serial introduced. Nice update from Google.

The recently launched Google Allo messaging app continues to add new features via updates from the Play Store. The latest version includes a new option that was hinted at a couple of weeks ago in a leak: background themes.

Basically, Allo users now have the option to switch from a basic background for their text chats to a variety of different and colorful designs. While this is just a visual change, it certainly will help make chatting more interesting compared to a plain white background.

Google is also adding what the company calls the Smart Smiley button to Allo with this update. The company says that people use less than 3 percent of the emojis that are currently available for chats. The Smart Smiley button is designed to change that. Users can just press on the button while they are typing a message to a friend, and a list of relevant emoji and stickers will appear that can be placed inside the message. Those choices will change based on both the words and sentiment for each text message, and Smart Smiley can even offer suggestions for emojis before you start typing based on the current conversation.

Finally, Google Allo users can add official stickers based on the upcoming movie “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. The film, set in the universe of Harry Potter, debuts in movie theaters on Friday, Nov. 18. What do you think of the new background themes, the Smart Smiley button and the Fantastic Beasts stickers that have been added to Google Allo?

Everything is OK in allo but I don't like the noise it makes when chatting with Google assistant, why don't they just change it [emoji19]
