Today, at Google for Nigeria we introduced Gallery Go: a photo gallery, designed to work offline, that uses machine learning to automatically organize and make your photos look their best.
Gallery Go is available in the Play Store for devices running Android 8.1 (Oreo) or higher. While the app is available worldwide, some features such as organizing photos by people aren’t available in all countries.

This is a pretty decent gallery app if you do not need/use online backup and stuff. One annoying thing is that it has a custom implementation of the share menu like many other google apps which gets annoying to use.

But not available with lower Android versions:( Any chance for Android 6,7 etc?
Many newer smartphones lacks own gallery(some has different apps for video and photos) and 3rd party gallery apps are neither smooth working nor adfree. So something from Google is inevitable.

With Google Photos getting as feature-laden as it is, it only makes sense that people would turn to a less storage-intensive alternative. Google introduced Gallery Go for its less powerful Android Go phones about a year and a half ago, and it's already reached 50 million Play Store installations in that time.
