Thursday, May 17, 2012: Eyeing an opportunity out of the buzzing tablet market in the country, Go Tech (makers of Funtab) has launched two new Android-based tablet PCs in the market- Funtab Fusion and foneTab. EFYTimes gave you an exclusive look of the foneTab tablet earlier this month.
Both the devices sport a 17.74-cm (7-inch) resistive touch screen and are powered by an 800 MHz processor. The Rs 3,999 priced Funtab Fusion runs Android 2.3, has 256 MB RAM and 2 GB of internal storage, whereas the Rs 6,999 priced foneTab runs Android 2.2, has 512 MB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. Besides, both the new tablets support Wi-Fi, 3G, HDMI, Flash.
Satisfying the video call needs, both the tablets come with a 0.3 MP camera. Just like other tablets in the market, the new tablets also support expandable memory up to 32 GB via a microSD card. Coming as a useful feature, the devices comprise one USB 2.0 and one mini USB port. "We are very happy to launch two new tablets, which are designed keeping youth in mind. Fun and education are two important aspect of a youth's life. We are very sure that the youth will like our new offering at an affordable price range," said Gaurav Khanna, managing director, Go Tech at the event.
Among the family of the Funtab tablets from Go Tech, foneTab is the only device to carry the voice calling feature via a SIM. "We are pretty delighted with the voice call-enabled foneTab. The consumer in the market is very keen to have a tablet with the SIM supported voice calling feature which he does not find easily as the numbers are very scant. Prioritising this feature, the consumer thereafter looks for the screen, OS and other specs," added Gaurav.
As for the availability, the tablets can be pre-booked from the company's website, www.go-tech.in and will be available in retail outlets pan India starting first week of June 2012.
