NEW DELHI: E-commerce giant Flipkart
unveiled a range of new Intel-powered
Android tablets in the price range of Rs 5,999
and 15,999. We got a chance to spend some
time with the top-of-the-line Digiflip Pro
XT911 tablet that features Wi-Fi and 3G
connectivity options in addition to voice
calling functionality. Here's what we feel
about the tablet...
Flipkart Digiflip Pro XT911 tablet looks and
feels like a premium product because of its
glass construction and sleek profile. The
tablet sports an aluminium alloy frame that
exudes a feeling of durability. The tablet's
back panel is made of toughened scratch-
resistant glass with an acrylic white coloured
finish similar to the one seen on iPhone 4/4S.
The company also offers a scratch guard for
the back, in the box. The front also features a
glass bezel and has an 8.9-inch display. There
are no capacitive touch buttons as the UI
includes soft-keys for navigation.
The top edge (in landscape mode) features
plastic keys for power and volume control
and we feel these don't really match the
premium design of the tablet and stick out.
The tactile feedback is also average. Located
next to the keys, is a micro-sim card tray.
The left edge features the micro-USB port
and 3.5mm headset jack. The tablet comes
with two speaker outlets, each located on
either side.
The back houses the camera lens and features
Intel and Digiflip Pro branding. Overall, the
tablet looks really nice. However, we feel that
the glass body makes the tablet fragile and
users will need to use a case to protect it.
Flipkart Digiflip Pro XT911 tablet sports an
8.9-inch full-HD (1920x1200p) display. The
display looks extremely good and has wide
viewing angles, vivid colours and high
brightness levels. Text and graphics look
sharp and crisp, however, we were not able
to check how the display looks under direct
sunlight.
The tablet is powered by a 2GHz Intel Atom
Processor Z2580 (dual core) and 2GB RAM.
In our brief time with the tablet, we did not
face any issues while launching and switching
between apps and navigating the user
interface. We'll have more on the tablet's
hardware performance in our full review.
