Facebook services were briefly unavailable for some users on Friday for what the world's largest social networking website termed required maintenance.
Several users from across the world reported the problem, with most complaints seem to be originating from US and Europe.
At least some users in India and other parts of
Asia also experienced the problems.
Users trying to login to the Facebook website saw the following message instead of the regular Facebook News
Feed: Facebook Will Be Back Soon Facebook is down for required maintenance right now, but you should be able to get back on within a few minutes.

Facebook's website offers the following explanation for the error:
If you're seeing this error message when you try
to log in, it usually means that we're making an
improvement to the database that your account is
stored on.
