Facebook has announced it is going to introduce a voice-to-text feature in its messaging app, which will allow users to send text messages without having to type.
The latest version of Facebook Messenger allows users to send voice clips just as most popular messaging apps do. The upcoming update will take this further to include text along with voice clips. This feature should come in handy when users are behind the wheel and can’t type in text, or in a meeting where they can’t play a voice clip out loud.
The feature is currently in its testing phase and will be available only to a small number of people before it gets rolled out publicly. “Our plan is to test this feature at a tiny scale for now and we’re looking forward to seeing what you think of it before making the experience more widely available,” Facebook’s David Marcus said in the official post.
