Aiming to take on Pocket and other similar services, Facebook is testing a new feature that lets users save articles or links posted to Facebook for later reading. Facebook has not rolled out this feature to all its users, in fact, the feature is visible to some users in Facebook's mobile app.
According to The Verge, "when you use it, articles show up in a "saved" menu listed alongside your Facebook apps."
Facebook is known for experimenting with new features - with some become part of the social networking site, while others are simply abandoned. Thus, it is not yet clear whether this 'read-it-later' feature becomes a permanent part of Facebook or is simply dropped after testing.
"We're constantly testing new features, but we have nothing further to share at this time," Facebook told AllThings D.
