Dale Steyn, the South African
paceman, has been ruled out of the
third Test against England with a
shoulder injury that he sustained in
the opening Test in Durban.
Steyn, who had pulled up twice during
the course of England's innings in the
first Test, was initially named in the
squad for the third Test at the
Wanderers following positive updates
regarding his recovery. However, he
doesn't seem to have recovered in
time, and as disappointing as it is for
South Africa, Russell Domingo, the
coach, remains upbeat about his
comeback.
"I don't think it's the end of Dale
Steyn," he said on Monday (January
11). "All players will experience some
sort of niggles. He is a great athelete.
He is as fit as they can come. We know
he is a great bowler. He is the best
bowler in the world. We haven't had
him since the first Test in India tour
and that has been disappointing." Read More:
