Here in SL , Dialog Mobile gives a service (can't remember the name) where we could see certain channels in mobile for a cost , but don't require internet :shy
 
No it doesn't require internet. The dongle acts like an antenna. One time purchase. Just google 'dvb-t tuner for android' and you can see a similar tech to what DD might release in India.

ISRO has launched GSAT 6 exactly for that purpose(Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) but only for strategic users so that they can get Live feed from UAV :u

Pls. Tell your experience of using dongle for TV on Mobile

I live In Mumbai 2Km. far from Doordarshan center.
I used in TV ON GO Mumbai. It Works near Doordarshan center only. It's not working proper in suburb area. Only near Doordarshan center working fine.
Even near the Doordarshan center In building or in shops it not works properly. I extended antenna of the dongle of TV ON GO. Then I can see but not fully satisfied.
It Not works in Bus and Train. Also not works while walking on the road. How can we Watch?
Near Doordarshan center,The dongle Tunes 15channels (with 1HD Test Signal Mumbai DTT and 4 Radio channels). But In 1km far from Doordarshan Dongle tunes only 7 Channels (Without HD and some channels with 2 Radio channels)

If Not works in Bus or Train. Also not works while walking on the road. How can we Watch TV ON GO? Why peoples will purchase the dongles? How peopels will watch tv on goo? How can private channels will add here?

Uptill now I used 2 different types of Dongles but same result. There is no fault of Dongle. The only transmission is not proper for mobile and Very bad Experience on Mobile TV ON GO.
Now Almost six months over for the service started, There is no any pvt. channel. Or DD HD channels. The peoples will use this service only for HD, News , Sports(Cricket),Music channels, Comedy etc.
So Doordarshan if you can receive this post then Pls. update your service as per public requirement.


Currently I dont have set top box to watch it on my TV. If I get Set top Box I will share you that experience.
