Telecom major Airtel today announced the pilot launch of Wi-Fi service at the Victoria Memorial Hall. A company statement said Airtel has become the preferred partner to provide Wi-Fi service to visitors and tourists, both national and international, at Victoria Memorial Hall for uninterrupted HD video streaming, superfast uploading and downloading of movies, music and images on the move.

Visitors will be able to enjoy two free browsing sessions of 30 minutes each per day against each individual mobile number, it said. Victoria Memorial Hall secretary and curator Jayanta Sengupta said, We are delighted to launch this pilot project in association with Airtel, which will form an important element in our commitment to government s Digital India.”

In February, Airtel said it has started delivering 4G mobile broadband speed of up to 135 megabits per second. The company said data speeds of up to 135 Mbps have been delivered on commercially available mobile devices on Airtel’s 4G network in Kerala.

To deliver this high speed, the company said that it has used carrier aggregation across TD LTE and LTE FDD on a LIVE 4G network, which make it the first mobile operator in India to commercially deploy LTE-Advanced (4G+) technology.

I agree too ,

The step towards Digital India is a big step and collaterally we can achieve it in near future.
As we all are aware the types of internet connection by now, and if we remember facebook giving wifi services at all railway stations and schools. the project has yet not begun . But if I want to put the fact file here than I would introduce Sterlite Technologies with its 4G are focusing on
Sterlite has already initiated some of the government projects like National Mission Education & National Optical Fiber Network to create digital infrastructure meant for digital services and to increase digital literacy in remote areas
