Deadline to file Income Tax Returns extended by a month to August 31

The income tax department on Tuesday extended the deadline to file tax returns by a month to August 31 from the July 31.The Central Board of Direct Taxes has cited difficulties faced by taxpayers due to various reasons, including extension of due date for issue of Form 16 for the Assessment -Year 2019-20 behind the extension of the deadline.
