Croatian alternative telco Iskon has
added a number of channels to its
online TV service 'Iskon.TV player',
bringing the total available to 14. The new channels added to the service
are: RTL2, RTL Plus, MTV Adria, Travel Channel, CNN,
Playomania, Dorcel TV and X-Dream TV. These join
the six existing channels of HTV1, HTV2, RTL, CMC,
Baby TV and 24 sata TV. The channels are being offered free of charge to
existing users until July 15th, and to new users for
one month free of charge. Iskon.TV player is
available on mobile devices and PCs on an over-
the-top basis, with two packages available: a basic
package of 13 channels costing € 24.99 per month, and a complete package which includes the adult
channels Dorcel TV and X-Dream TV costing € 34.99 per month. Iskon launched a managed-network IPTV service
called 'Iskon.TV' in April 2009 in nine cities,
including Zagreb, Split and Osijek, although there
are still no subscriber figures available for the
service. There are a number of other IPTV services
in the country, including from incumbent T-Hrvatski Telekom (T-HT) and alternative telcos Vodatel/
Metronet, Optima Telekom and Amis Telekom. T-HT comfortably dominates the Croatian IPTV
market with around 300,000 subscribers for its
'MAXtv' service, and has also unveiled a HRK 1bn
(USD 192mn) plan to deliver an advanced fibre-
optic network to the country's four largest cities:
Zagreb, Split, Rijeka and Osijek.
