Bengaluru-based startup Creo has been teasing its upcoming smartphone, the Mark 1, for some time now. After giving a glimpse of the device that promises to be a ‘new phone every month’, a source confirms that the upcoming device will come fitted with a whopping 21MP rear snapper.

We’ve also learnt that it comes with a built-in feature that claims to make it ‘unstealable’. The security feature lets users track down their device even after a factory reset.

The company has also released a photo gallery with images taken using the device. While we would like to reserve our comments on the image quality, digging a little deeper, the 6144 x 3456 pixels of resolution of one of the images further hints at a 21MP rear snapper. The image properties also show a f/2.2 aperture.

The device is expected to run the company’s own OS that is build on Android 5.1.1, but come with the latest features. The highlight of the device is the monthly software updates planned to make it look like a new device each time.

Some of the features are said to be ‘out of this world’ and not seen in any other Android device.
There have been several reports on how phone companies including startups have been struggling to impress investors. It is no more just the battle of specs, and software is believed to give a better chance at revenue generation.

This is the reason why companies are investing in software and services. Offlate we have seen YU making investments in startups and offering a service like Around YU. Xiaomi has recently invested $25 million in digital content provider Hungama. Even LeEco has entered the Indian market, focusing on content.
