Jio just followed airtel's path.

They are adding near by areas of already launched cities in the name of new cities.
Atleast in Kerala. Most places in the list are suburbs of already launched cities. Like 2 to 5 km away from the centre.
airtel followed jio path by offering unlimited 5g

now jio inspired to follow airtel path

Very true observation, most of these names are sub-urban areas which were already covered when they announced main city

only observation is that each name of town/city is having separate Municipality . so first it was Mahanagar pailka, then these are nagar pailka or gram panchayat which may be 2-10km apart. even they listed 2 gram panchyat which are 2 km apart.

actually this is what DOT NIA says, FIRST tower count per city/town apart from SECOND count of each DISTINCT area whether its village, town or city or sub-urban

Clear indication that BHARAT is moving.

OT- Bsnl also need to launch such individual locality with super fast growth of 4G in 1.5-2 year to be profitable in few years. otherwise duopoly will kill competition and choice to end users/consumers

For that to happen, BSNL needs to keep the tariffs lower than private operators and 1Gbps backhaul to all towers. Also, they need to deploy band 1 as well as band 8 LTE, so total of 15Mhz of LTE will provide great experience to end consumers. I strongly feel this is impossible. 2025 will be the breakthrough year of 5G with blanket coverage of Jio SA 5G and hardly there will be anyone using 4G even from Airtel. Once you are behind in competition when Mukesh Ambani is there in front of you, you will always be behind even if you Sunil Mittal. See for cost cutting Airtel went with NSA and it has started affecting their good LTE in many circles. So it's never possible to catch up with Mukesh Ambani. Never ever.

That was needed since both need to be on the same footing for the sake of like to like comparison. Either both follow just the name of the larger cities or both follow municipal corporations and talukas and gram panchayat level count. That's when you get the clear comparison between the scale of the coverage of both operators. Jio had taken the former approach and Airtel resorted to the latter for the sake of a pseudo projection of superior coverage so Jio had to align itself to the latter approach.

I think that's incorrect. I see Avadi, Poonamalle, Ambattur in Jio. Whereas Airtel says Chennai simply.

Jio's count is misleading. They can go one more level further and state the street names.
