Glenmark to conduct trials in India for potential COVID-19 drug
BENGALURU (Reuters) - Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (GLEN.NS) said on Thursday it will start clinical trials in India of antiviral drug favipiravir, seen as a potential treatment for COVID-19, sending its shares up as much as 9%.
The trials come after a Chinese official told reporters last month that an active ingredient of the drug had been effective, with no obvious side effects, in helping coronavirus patients recover.
One of my relative died today due to Covid-19.
Also 33 staff members including doctors and nurses have been tested positive with covid-19 & total 57 staff members are quarantined.
All Doctors and nurses are living near my house in a residential society. Don't when we will get relief from this pandemic
TN has increased testing in last 5days it seems, so increase in cases.
Hope the authorities are a bit more hard on people violating.My society residents are roaming around inside the premises as if everything is Normal.
Am located in heart of Chennai being hot spot zone don't think lockdown will be lifted on 3rd May.
