Chinese smartphone vendor Coolpad has launched yet another smartphone in India called the Coolpad Max. The company had recently launched the Coolpad Note 3 Plus in the country after which it had immediately started teasing the new smartphone, which isn’t technically new, as the Coolpad Max was launched in China last year. The company has launched three colour options including Gold, Grey and Pink and has priced the handset at Rs24,999. The smartphone will be available in gold and Rose Gold from 30 May on Amazon.in.
The smartphone comes with a dual SIM and dual standby support, and also features a unique feature called dual-system in which there is an external system and a separate internal system where user’s calls and texts are encrypted for added security and privacy. Talking about security, the handset also features a fingerprint reader on the back.
Coming down to the specifications, the Coolpad Max features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a 401ppi along with a 2.5D Arc Gorilla Glass 4 for protection. It is powered by the 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617 SoC along with an Adreno 405 GPU. There are two different variants of the handset including a 4GB RAM variant with 64GB of inbuilt storage. The memory can be expanded as the smartphone comes with a hybrid SIM card slot, so one can add a microSD card of up to 128GB of storage. It will be running on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s CoolUI 8.0 layer on top. The camera is a 13MP module with a dual-tone LED flash at the back and the front has 5MP camera to take selfies. The smartphone supports 4G LTE and has a 2800 mAh battery that claims to offer 17 hours of talk time and with the addition of Quick Charge support, Coolpad says that one can charge the handset to 65 percent in 30 minutes.
