We have 2 jio phones ready for pickup and we getting confused with terms and conditions of Jio phone. They say like after 3 years, they have a provision to take it back. Since its an electronic device the following confuses me;
1)What happens in case of device theft/lost?
2) What if it gets to non-working during the period of contract?
3) What if we need to use it even after contract time?
After reading terms and conditions again, feels like a scam. Suggestions please
Read the T&C and understand if you can:
Jio Phone Booking - Pre Book Jio Mobile Online for 500 Only | Jio
1.If you have lost your phone you can't get the refundable deposit.. The t and c are missing in the contract of JioPhone and there is no clear info regarding you have to pay something back or not if your phone lost..
2. Usually normal wear and tear accepted.. The phone shouldn't have any physical damage and phone should be in the working condition only.. Any repairs you bound to do at the authorized service center only
If the phone is dead after 12 months warranty period, you don't get any free repair..
3. After 3 years if you need, you can return after 36 months from the date which you got jio phone, So, after 36 months Expiry you have to return within 3 months from the expiry of 36 months for your device.. If you haven't returned within 39 months, you can't get the security deposit.. And jio also gets the right to get back the device from you anytime legally after 39 months also
If your phone is dead also, you are bound to return but you don't get refund of security deposit if you returned back a dead phone without repairing it at authorized service center..
And also you have to recharge for minimum Rs 1500(total recharge value) for every year you use JioPhone..
If you returned after using 12-24 months, you will get Rs 500 back..
If returned after using 24-36 months, you'll get Rs 1000 back..
If returned after 3 years, you'll get ₹1500 back..
Other info:
As, people who really use feature phone now won't use Rs 1500 in reality.,
If they consume that much balance, they don't stay using feature phone only..
They are trying to get more money from them and they wanted to keep them use for much longer period and get money,
If one recharged ₹153 for 36 months it is Rs 5508/- and Rs 1500 as deposit.. It will be Rs 7008/- the customer is paying..
However they get their amount back of rs 1500 after 3 years..
But, just once think, who are the users paying Rs 5508 for 3 years using feature phone??
I think before 3 years only market will change to smartphones from the feature phones..
