.Mathura, Jun 29 (PTI) BJP today accused the Centre of not taking any "decisive action" in tackling issues like inflation and corruption and said the current situation in the country was similar to that of an "Emergency".

"Be it the current UPA government or Uttar Pradesh, there is an Emergency-like situation everywhere," BJP national vice-president Vinay Katiyar told reporters here, adding that UP government "had not taken any action" to deal with the rising crime rate.

Reiterating the demand made by senior BJP leaders for a CBI probe into the mysterious death of deputy chief medical officer Y S Sachan in Lucknow jail, Katiyar said a matter of such "prime importance" should be handed over to the central investigation agency to bring out the facts.

Prime accused in the murder of CMO B P Singh, Sachan was found dead in a jail hospital on June 22 and the State Cabinet Secretary Shashank Shekhar had said prima facie it was a case of suicide.

Later, Sachan''s post-mortem report had revealed nine injury marks on the body, including neck, elbows, thigh and wrist.
