Can we watch channels without TV Tuner on led monitor with HDMI port & HD settopbox

Hello,
I want to confirm that can i watch all HD and SD channels on a Dell 22 inch led monitor which have HDMI port by connecting my videocon hd set top box with it?

Or i have to buy a external tv tuner?

Asitpual Are u sure? One another doubt is that we can watch only hd channels not the normal sd channels in this setup? please help me, if you have personal experience.

Yes you can watch HD/SD channels on Led monitor if it has HDMI input port.

u can watch all sd and hd channel for sure.

I have done same setup at my relatives home.

but u need separate speakers to be connected if monitors doesn't have inbuilt.

best thing would be connect speakers to stb directly

Saket connecting speakers directly to stb? u mean connecting via 3.5mm port which is available on backside of monitor? as stb don't have such port.

no need u external tv tuner u use hdmi port

buy one convertor of RCA out(male) from STB to 3.5mm female, and connect speakers
