BSNL, which was delivering Internet access to customers through copper/fibre cable, has scaled up its broadband backbone from the existing speed of 10Gbps to 20 Gbps.
Eventually, this would be scaled up to 40 Gbps as BSNL migrates to a state-of-the-art technology, the MNG PAN — MPLS-TP (Multiprotocol Label Switching-Transport Profile), the Next Generation Packet Aggregation technology.
