BSNL launches Bharat Berry push e-mail services

State-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has collaborated with Bharat Berry Technologies to provide push e-mail services for all its GSM mobile subscribers across India. BSNL is targeting its new Bharat Berry services for all range of handsets running on operating systems such as BlackBerry, Symbian and Android. The Bharat Berry push e-mail services give an always-on capability by which new emails are actively transferred. Moreover, users can create cloud-based backup of contacts, tasks, calendar and notes. It would also work with Microsoft Outlook on user's computer.
BSNL is offering one-month free trial of Bharat Berry services to all its subscribers. "As the mobile data connectivity is improving and data usage is growing, more and more customers are looking for push e-mail solution on their mobile handsets as a productivity tool and as a means to remain connected," says BSNL chairman R.K. Upadhyay. "This BSNL and Bharat Berry partnership will provide its customers with an easy to use, cost effective solution for their mobile push e-mail requirements," he adds.

BSNL GSM users can avail this service by sending an SMS with “SUB BB” to 51123 and follow the basic steps for activation. To access the full-fledged Bharat Berry services including personal information manager and e-mail, sync users will be charged Rs. 80 per month. The individual services are available for Rs. 50 each per month for both pre-paid and post-paid BSNL GSM subscribers. The Bharat Berry service is also available for 2G and 3G customers.
