NEW DELHI: State-run telco BSNL has become the fifth largest mobile services company in the country owing to its monthly growth rate of 1.48% in providing new connections during the month of June, the telecom regulator said in a report Friday .
The report said that the growth rate is the highest in the country where the telco added than 13.03 lakh new mobile customers. BSNL increased its market share from 8.54% to 8.65% for which it credited its free all India roaming scheme.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) in its report said that the telco's performance in wireless subscriber addition and monthly growth rate has been increasing continuously from July 2015. Also, BSNL has been getting MNP positive which the company is trying to maintain in this financial year.
The report said that the telco's port-in customer base stands at 0.25 million since April 2016.
Recently, BSNL and Reliance Jio signed intra-circle roaming agreement for 2G and 4G services. Also, immediately after Jio revealed its tariff structure, BSNL unveiled unlimited broadband offer at Rs 249 which indicates that the company is ready to make bold moves in order to survive and grow.
BSNL had introduced data plans where it offered unlimited data at competitive prices such as STV 1099 for unlimited data without speed restriction, STV 549 with 10 GB data, and STV 156 with 2GB data.

Integration with Jio? Are you sure bro about Bsnl integrating with Jio? Bsnl has the potential to beat any private telecom but due to lack of vision, and governments interest, it is suffering. People are reluctant to opt for bsnl broadband due to poor restoration services.

BSNL deserves to go up further, only BSNL is the one network that is taking on Jio,while others are still busy charging high prices from customers BSNL is making efforts to provide customers with best offer  :k

Bsnl will go up higher than this with the recent price cut by 50 percent in data rates.

Integration deal already signed between BSNL and Jio where Jio will use bsnl 2G for voice and bsnl will use Jio 4G for data.

But its only intra circle, so those sharing of network will only be available while roaming.

It's intra not inter Circle. Intra circle means home circle. You can roam on Jio 4G Network on home circle also bcoz of this contract, same also applies to Jio customers.
