BlackBerry, which announced its first Android smartphone named Priv last year is planning to flood the market with three new Android devices over the next couple of months.

Earlier the company CEO John Chen hinted that his company could launch an Android powered mid-range smartphone in July. Now Evan Blass is reporting that the company could launch not two but three different Android smartphones.

BlackBerry has embraced Android and its first smartphone Priv did go down well with most tech enthusiasts. Now the latest report hints at a flagship device and two more mid-range smartphones.

According to Evan Blass, BlackBerry’s upcoming smartphones are codenamed Neon, Argon and Mercury. The Neon will be the first to hit markets, claims the report.

BlackBerry Neon reportedly features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and metal unibody design. Powered by Snapdragon 617 chipset, there is 3GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2,610mAh battery with Qualcomm QuickCharge 2.0 support. It also sports a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. Neon which is expected to go on sale this month or early August could take on the likes of budget smartphones from Chinese vendors.

BlackBerry is also reportedly preparing a full touchscreen (read: without physical keyboard) Android flagship to follow Neon. The smartphone codenamed Argon features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display and is powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The device is likely to get 3000mAh battery for backup.

The VentureBeat report by Evan Blass also suggests that Argon will feature fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C connector. It will come with a 21MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera.

The next smartphone in the lineup is Mercury which could launch in early 2017. Mercury will reportedly feature a full QWERTY keyboard but won’t adopt the slide-out mechanism. A render of Mercury by Mondo BlackBerry hints at a taller and less wider smartphone.

BlackBerry Mercury is likely sporting a 4.5-inch full HD display with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 under the hood, alongside 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

The smartphone is likely to get 3,400mAh battery and camera department is taken care of by an 18MP rear shooter and an 8MP front shooter. The rear camera sensor could be the same as the one found on Priv.

While BlackBerry is doing its best to stay in the smartphone market, it will be worth watching how many consumers really switch to the Canadian brand.
