Biostar launches G300 SSD series, starting at Rs 3,250

Biostar has announced the launch of its SSD category storage with the G300 series. The company claims that the new SSD series is targeted at power users and gamers looking for high-performance storage. The SSDs in the G300 series will be offered with three storage options – 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB.

Biostar G300-120 (with 120GB storage) is priced at Rs 3,250; G300-240 (240GB storage) is priced at Rs 5,000 and G300-480 (480GB storage) is priced at Rs 9,400. The SSDs weigh 50g, 53g, and 56g respectively. All three storage devices are compatible with Mac, Linux, and Windows. The maximum reading capability of the SSDs is 550MBps, and up to 480 MBps write speed.

The company claims that the G300 SSD’s performance at data transfer will be 10 per cent faster than competing SSDs. The company also claims that the screwless housing design of the SSDs will prevent damage from shock, and allow for operation even when temperatures reach up to 70 degrees Centigrade.

“The new Biostar G300 series SSD’s is the first to adopt 4 power management chips, specially designed from Texas Instruments to improve product lifetime and durability, this function will help the G300 SSDs to operate continuously with improved reliability. Its specifically designed for gaming 3D video content particularly VR gaming experiences,” Biostar said in a press statement.

Biostar claims that the SSD’s feature high-speed DDR3 cache capabilities. The SSD’s also features a screw-less build and has 6.8mm thickness, which the company claims will fit in even in slim laptops.
