NEW DELHI: Travel app RailYatri Tuesday said that Bharti Airtel has the widest network coverage across rival telcos with 71% connectivity enroute Delhi to Kolkata, followed by Vodafone India’s 58%.
Launched recently, RailYatri app’s new version displays the mobile network coverage for any train and travellers can check and compare the mobile connectivity for various service providers across different routes.
The Noida-based company compares network coverage of five telcos— Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India, Idea Cellular, Reliance Communications and state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
"With the network coverage feature, passengers now know what to expect along their train route. Armed with this information, they can make their calls or take decisions like downloading a movie or book for later consumption,” Manish Rathi, CEO and co-founder, RailYatri said.
