If you're looking to buy a new phone, and don't want to spend more than Rs. 10,000, you've come to the right place. We've put together a list of our top picks among phones priced under Rs. 10,000, which have released within the last six months.
While last year's Rs. 50,000 flagship phone will still have a good user experience a year later, in the sub-Rs. 10,000 segment, the phones use lower-end hardware and therefore get dated more quickly, especially thanks to how quickly the price of components tends to come down. While there were some good phones that launched more than six months ago, if you're buying a phone in August, we'd suggest sticking to devices that released in this time frame.
Another point worth noting is that the list only looks at phones that have been reviewed by Gadgets 360, so some of Samsung’s offerings in this price segment that look good on paper have not made it to this list. Also note that we're looking at the overall performance of a phone, not just one specific category, so there's a bit of variation in what's available. Read on to know what the best phones you can buy for under Rs. 10,000 are, presented in no specific order.
1. Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime
One of the more recent launches on the list, the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime is easily one of the top performers in its price range right now. We were particularly impressed with its battery life and performance, especially for the price.
2. Asus ZenFone Max (2016)
The Asus ZenFone Max (2016) has excellent battery life and a pretty good camera as well. The phone doesn't have a fingerprint sensor though, something that is now becoming the norm. The screen resolution is also pretty low for the size, but despite this, it's a good value for money buy.
3. LeEco Le 1s Eco
The LeEco Le 1s Eco is appealing for its design and performance, along with all the expected features such as a fingerprint reader and quick charging. On the flip side, the battery life is disappointing and the phone heats up. However, it also comes with free access to LeEco’s content services and 5TB storage, which tips the value scale in its favour.
4. Coolpad Note 3 Plus
Launched in May, the Coolpad Note 3 Plus has a good display and fingerprint sensor though one issue that you might face is the software of the phone - it can be a little confusing. If you're willing to put up with that for good hardware though, this is a pretty good buy.
5. Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus
The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus heats up and the battery life is disappointing, but it has a good display and Dolby Atmos sound enhancement, so if you're planning on watching a lot of movies on your phone, this will be a good pick if you don’t stray too far from a power bank.
