Samsung India on Friday launched Galaxy J2 Ace and Galaxy J1 4G smartphones at Rs 8490 and 6890 respectively. The company is aiming to expand its portfolio with the addition of these models in the under Rs 10,000 segment.
Some of the Samsung’s India-specific features include Ultra Data Saving (UDS) Mode which uses data compression to provide 50% data saving and S bike mode. The company said that these features have witnessed 50% adoption amongst consumers. Samsung’s other India-specific innovations include S Secure and Turbo Speed Technology which are available on Galaxy J2 Ace.
Galaxy J2 Ace is Samsung’s most affordable device featuring a front flash camera. It offers 8MP rear camera and 5 MP front camera with selfie flash. The device is powered by a 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor and offers 1.5 GB RAM. J2 Ace sports a 5 inch display coupled with Turbo Speed Technology (TST) that optimizes the device RAM allowing it to open apps up to 40% faster than devices with double the RAM, the company claims.
Galaxy J1 4G features a 4.5 inch super AMOLED display and sports a 5MP rear and 2MP front camera. The smartphone is equipped with 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor and 1GB RAM.
While Galaxy J2 Ace runs Android 6.0, Galaxy J1 4G runs the older version Android 5.0. On memory front, both the devices offer 8 GB internal memory. However, Galaxy J2 Ace’s memory is expandable up to 256 GB, on the other hand Galaxy J1’s memory is expandable up to 128 GB.
Galaxy J1 is backed by a 2050 mAh battery, whereas Galaxy J2 is backed with a more powerful 2600 mAh battery.

“These models have been conceptualized and equipped with front flash and Super AMOLED screens respectively to cater to the needs of both selfie takers and entertainment lovers,” he added.
Galaxy J2 Ace is is available in gold, black and silver colours and Galaxy J1 4G is currently available in gold, black, and white colours.
