BCCI to speak to coach Duncan Fletcher on team's poor run: sources
Stung by the growing calls for sacking the Indian coach, the BCCI, it seems, has finally woken up and has decided to speak to Duncan Fletcher shortly - sources told CNN-IBN.
CNN-IBN has learnt the board has decided to speak to the under-fire Fletcher on the sidelines of the forthcoming World T20 in Bangladesh. It is believed that board secretary Sanjay Patel has been entrusted with the responsibility of going to Bangladesh and speak to Fletcher during the tournament.
On his return to India, Patel will be filing his report on the discussions with
Fletcher to BCCI president N Srinivasan
This development comes a day after CNN-IBN had reported on Wednesday that the BCCI is likely to review Fletcher's contract post the World Twenty20 in Bangladesh.
India remained winless on their tours of South Africa and New Zealand, after which they lost to Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Bangladesh to bow out of the Asia Cup. India have so far beaten only Bangladesh and Afghanistan in 2014 and will have their task cut out at the 16-team World Twenty20 beginning March 16.
India will take on Pakistan in their first match of World T20 on March 21.
