Stats highlights from Bangladesh's historic win in their 100th Test:

4 Teams who have won their hundredth Test - Australia, West Indies, Pakistan and now, Bangladesh. This was their ninth win overall, fourth away from home and first against Sri Lanka.

18 Test matches taken by Bangladesh to register their maiden win against Sri Lanka, losing 15 and drawing the remaining two. Only two teams have taken longer to register a win against an opposition - 48 by New Zealand against England and 25 by India against West Indies.

3 This was the third instance of Sri Lanka losing a Test match despite scoring 300 or more in each innings. The previous two instances came in Cape Town in 1998 and in Mumbai in 2009 . The 657 runs scored by Sri Lanka in the game are also the most by a team in a losing cause against Bangladesh.

7 This was the seventh instance of Bangladesh taking a 100-plus first innings lead in a Test and the first time they had a 100-plus run lead while batting second. The only other instance when they took a first innings lead against Sri Lanka was in Galle in 2013 (68 runs).

2284 partnership runs by Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim in Tests in 51 innings - the most by any pair for Bangladesh. They went past 2275 runs by Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal in 50 innings during their 19-run stand in the second innings.

0 Fifty-plus stands for Sri Lanka against Bangladesh before the start of this Test. Suranga Lakmal added 55 with Dinesh Chandimal in the first innings and 80 with Dilruwan Perea in the second. The only other instance of Sri Lanka having fifty-plus stands for ninth wicket in each innings of a Test was in Lord's in 2006 when Chaminda Vaas and Nuwan Kulasekara put together 61 and 105.

5 Suranga Lakmal became the fifth player - and first Sri Lankan - batting at No. 10 or below to score 30 or more in each innings of a Test. He scored a career-best 35 in the first innings and bettered it by scoring 42 in the second outing.

Kusal Perera to miss first two ODIs against Bangladesh

Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Perera has been ruled out of the first two ODIs against Bangladesh due to a hamstring strain, team manager Asanka Gurusinha confirmed on Thursday (March 23) according to an ESPNCricinfo report.

Perera suffered the injury in his left thigh while batting for Sri Lanka Board President's XI against the touring Bangladesh in a warm-up game and was forced to retire hurt.

Mehedi earns maiden call-up to Bangladesh ODI squad for SL series

Bangladesh's teen sensation Mehedi Hasan Miraz has been drafted into the One-Day International (ODI) squad for the upcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka, starting Saturday (March 25).
