Mitchell Starc has suffered a stress
fracture and will not be able to bowl in
the remainder of the ongoing third
Test between Australia and New
Zealand in Adelaide. Cricket Australia
(CA) provided an update on Starc's
condition, mentioning that the left-
arm pacer "has an early stage stress
fracture in the third metatarsal on his
right foot."
Starc, who took over the role of
Australia's pace spearhead following
the retirement of Mitchell Johnson,
had to leave the field midway on the
opening day of the historic day-night
Test at The Adelaide Oval. Starc was
grimacing in pain in his ninth over,
soon after picking up the wicket of
Mitchell Satner, his third wicket of the
match. At the end of the over, he left
the field to undergo scans.
