Rilee Rossouw, South African batsman, has been ruled out of the tri-nation One-Day International (ODI) series after injuring his right shoulder during the match against Australia on Tuesday (June 7).

Rossouw fell on his shoulder while fielding during Australia's chase and left the field in discomfort after the awkward dive on the boundary line. The 26-year-old was immediately taken to the hospital for scans.

"Rilee fell awkwardly on his shoulder while fielding the ball on the boundary during the match against Australia last night. He was immediately taken to the local hospital for X-rays which confirmed he had dislocated the AC joint of his right shoulder," Dr Mohammed Moosajee, South Africa's team manager, said.

"He will be unable to take further part in this series and will return back to South Africa as soon as possible. The extent of the injury and the recovery period will only be known once he has been assessed and managed by one of Cricket South Africa's panel of shoulder specialists."

Dean Elgar has been called-up as the replacement for Rossouw and will join up with the squad in West Indies.

South Africa's next game is against Australia on June 11 at Warner Park, St. Kitts.
