LONDON: Prize money at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals will increase by 30 percent over the next three years, helping take overall remuneration on the men's professional tennis tour to about $90 million.
The ATP says that it is raising prize money across all its tournaments, with masters events going up by 9 percent by 2014.
Prize money at the World Tour Finals will go up from $5 million to $6.5 million and the bonus pool paid to the top 12-ranked players will be boosted 33 percent from $6 million to $8 million.
ATP executive chairman and president Adam Helfant says "we are privileged to be experiencing a golden era in men's professional tennis and it is fitting that the commitment and excellence of the players is recognized and rewarded in this way."
