Arvind Kejriwal furnishes bail bond, court orders release from jail
The court says the release order will be sent to the Tihar Jail through a special messenger
The legal issue raised by Kejriwal is whether bail bond is necessary in summons case when accused appears and is accompanied by a lawyer
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday ordered forthwith release of Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader furnished the bail bond in a criminal defamation complaint filed against him by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nitin Gadkari, changing his earlier stand against it.
Metropolitan Magistrate Gomati Manocha accepted the personal bond filed by Kejriwal’s counsel in compliance with the order passed by the Delhi high court.
