Google had shown the way for Motorola on how to be successful with an excellent mid ranger in the form of Moto G1 and a higher mid ranger called Moto X1 (Still regarded as one of the best Android phones). See what Lenovo has done with Moto, they don't have any strategy as to which market to target and they ended up releasing a G series phone at above 20k price recently. That is what is called stupidity and will cause downfall eventually!!
Yeah, I know about Motorola. I worked with them for 6 years. They did not have planning post Android and hence lost out. They made a come back with Google's help and were again let down by Lenovo. I don't think one bad product will make Apple to think different and release mid-rangers as you are expecting. No way.

You think none of the iPhones have been failing post warranty since the inception of it? There must have been several cases like this. However, it's the percentage of failure that matters. And also, Apple's in-warranty support is excellent, they replace device without any hassle. I have practically seen it with my friend's iPhone 6, just with 15 days of warranty left he got a new phone and he's still using it (3 years)!! Can't imagine this happening on any smartphone brand other than Apple especially in India.

:clap: Very well said. Lenovo has destroyed Motorola. My Moto E1 is still working beautifully on KitKat and I have never tried to upgrade it. But new Motorola phones are horrible.
Sorry for the off-topic.

Moral of the story: Cheapest (current-generation) iPhone > costliest Android phone.
They should not have discontinued the old iPhone X. They could have brought its price down to ₹60k.

I think,In India they won't discontinue Iphone X.,Apple sell way older models in India like iphone 6 which is 4 years old and apple generally don't repair models which are more than 5 years old officially.

iphone x manufacturing has stopped long ago it will sell only till stock last but in india it lasts longer may be because of less sales this is same for iphone 6 also

No bro Apple introduced 32 gb variant for our market roughly 18 months ago. This is the most successful Iphone in india and people are still buying it. As for Iphone X, it is understandable bcz it costs more than Xr which has the same design bt poweful processor and hasn’t been a very popular(sales wise) in India

You are missing my point.I am not expecting them to lauch budget phones.I am expecting them not to call a $700 phone a budget phone.
5C was a failure in terms of sales and I feel this one also will be.
I've answered this point that they never called it a budget phone.
Ha ha..nobody calls their phones budget not even redmi 5a,6a..they are called desh ka smartphone.
Anyway enjoy your day.
One side you say that you are expecting apple not to call their devices budget and another side you say no one calls their devices budget. What's your point exactly?

It doesn't make sense to continue iPhone X which will be costlier than XR and has lower version of the processor but an LED screen. That won't sell in India imo. They could sell older devices because the newer ones always had better specs in all the areas. That's not the case this time. One solution could be to sell iPhone X at a lesser price than XR, not sure if it's possible for them.
Yes.I sincerely request Indian Gov to identify people thinking 76k phone to be budget device and tax them more and give us some tax relief ;)
Haha, not all people who use an iPhone are rich and they don't think it's in their budget. However, there are several options to buy an iPhone for salaried employees and they can buy it through an emi option.

Oh Boy..

What I am saying is that No one calls their product as Budget offering directly, they use slogans like Apple said "We want to reach more people with this product". Colour options and e-Sim can be provided to other models also.

I didn't say anything like that. This is something I stressed on - "people thinking 76k phone to be budget device"

That was my personal opinion. Only time will tell if it gets discontinued or not.

We should all agree on one thing that Iphones are not Indian centric. US,China,Europe are the biggest markets of Iphone. There is a certain way Indians spend their money and in our economy there is no sense of buying a phone aound 80k and upgrading it nxt year.
Ofcourse there are people in India which can afford that bt the number is negligible compared to a common user.
U can totally understand the agony of an Iphone X user at this point who despite paying close to 1 lakh rupees is carrying a device(barring camera) which is more or less inferior to the less expensive Xr(Big screen is the trend)

I wonder how many Iphone users get their device from their NRI friends and family members. The number is huge

They are right, they can definitely reach more people with this model IMO. They are providing e-Sim (DSDS) on all the iPhone models announced yesterday!! It's not exclusive to XR, although color options are exclusive!

People who can spend like that doesn't have a word called budget in their dictionary! They can spend any amount for anything. And the people that I mentioned in my last post will always think they have bought an expensive phone!

That was my personal opinion. Only time will tell if it gets discontinued or not.
It's already discontinued in the US, and I guess same will happen in India for iPhone X. I think 6s and 6s plus might continue in India though.

Apple discontinues iPhone X and the last iPhones with headphone jacks (Read the last paragraph)
Apple Discontinues iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone X in the US

There will be a lot of people like that and that makes sense too. See the price of XR in India, it's 76900 and in US it's 53900. There is a difference of 23k!!!
