Yeah, I know about Motorola. I worked with them for 6 years. They did not have planning post Android and hence lost out. They made a come back with Google's help and were again let down by Lenovo. I don't think one bad product will make Apple to think different and release mid-rangers as you are expecting. No way.

You think none of the iPhones have been failing post warranty since the inception of it? There must have been several cases like this. However, it's the percentage of failure that matters. And also, Apple's in-warranty support is excellent, they replace device without any hassle. I have practically seen it with my friend's iPhone 6, just with 15 days of warranty left he got a new phone and he's still using it (3 years)!! Can't imagine this happening on any smartphone brand other than Apple especially in India.

You are missing my point.I am not expecting them to lauch budget phones.I am expecting them not to call a $700 phone a budget phone.
5C was a failure in terms of sales and I feel this one also will be.
I owned a Samsung note 3 and exchanged it after 50 months this march as I move to 4G with no problems. IMO Samsung Note series is way super than S series.

Apple is clever to make Xr 6.1 inch so i think its sales figure will be on par with the other two devices
And 5C wasn’t an utter failure; it outsold Galaxy S4 and any other Flagship device by other brands. Yes it wasn’t as premium and sturdy like the usual ones so we hardly see it in use nowadays

Who called XR a budget phone? It's the replacement for the normal iPhone they release and it's cheaper than iPhone 8 Plus with better specs. I actually feel this will be a bigger success than XS and XS Max. I don't see much value in those devices for the steep price difference.
Good that Samsung works for you, for me it's a No!!

That's not apple. They are not responsible if some tech portal on Twitter calls it a budget phone. Did they call iPhone 8 and 8 Plus as budget phones too lol!
I watched the event last night, and they never used the word budget. They only said they want to reach more people with this technology through the XR model.
