Along with the compact iPhone SE , Apple today also launched a compact iPad Pro. After launching the 12.9-inch iPad Pro last year, the company has today launched a 9.7-inch variant. The new iPad looks quite similar to the iPad Air 2, but is slightly thicker. Apple has also added four speakers at each of the corners, just like you see on the bigger iPad Pro.
Apple iPad Pro 9.7-inch price : The new iPad Pro is available in three storage variants — 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. The 32GB variant is priced at $ 599 (Rs 39,800 approximately), 128GB variant is priced at $749 (Rs 49,800 approximately), and the 256GB variant is priced at $899 (Rs 59,800 approximately). Pre-orders for the new iPad Pro go live on March 24, and it will go on sale from March 31 onwards.
Apple iPad Pro 9.7 specifications, features : In line with earlier reports, the new iPad Pro flaunts a “True Tone Display,” which measures the ambient light and adjusts the color temperature. It is up to 25 times brighter than the iPad Air 2, and up to 40 percent less reflective too.
The new iPad Pro is powered by an A9X processor, and just like the new iPhones supports the always-on Hey Siri feature. On the photography front it comes with a 12-megapixel rear camera with True Tone flash, and the ability to record 4K videos. It is also the first iPad in Apple’s lineup to come in Rose Gold color.
One of the highlights of the new iPad Pro 9.7 is the support for Apple Pencil. This accessory was launched along with the 12.9-inchiPad Pro last year, and Apple’s design guru Jony Ive is quite clear when he says that the Apple Pencil is not a stylus , and it won’t replace your fingers for inputs. In our iPad Pro review , we found the Apple Pencil to be highly accurate, and the closest we have come to a “pen-on-paper experience on a touchscreen using a stylus.”
The Smart Connector is also needed to connect other accessories like say a Smart Keyboard Case. In our review we found it to be a great accessory, and a must-have for iPad Pro buyers.
