If there was only Google's version of Android without the involvement of OEM in the software, it would have been easy. It's impossible to push new version to those huge number of devices with different types of hardware and skins and whatever. Google's version is only Pixel and they are always updated to the latest version at least for two years. Even Android one devices lag a bit in the updates.
However, hours after the release, a lockscreen bypass was found - which could allow anyone to access the entire contact list without entering in the lock screen password. A fix for the flaw has not been issued by Apple yet.
