I want a new 10 Mbps connection without any STB (OTT/channel benefits) for my indoor CCTV which used to cost Rs. 198 monthly at launch (backup plan) but is discontinued. Only 398 (198 + 200 OTT add-on) is available for new booking. So I thought if it is possible to book new connection of Rs. 398 and downgrade to Rs. 198 afterwards. If anyone is using Rs. 398 plan please check and inform, it would be of much help. Thank you :)

Nope, you cannot shift from OTT plan to non-OTT plan.
Does it apply to all the internet + STB plans now or it is back-up plan specific policy?

In the past, on JioFiber, it was possible to detach STB from account and make it internet only connection.

Seems to be on every plan. A friend of mine couldn't switch back to ₹399 (30 Mbps w/o OTT) plan after switching to ₹599 OTT plan.

Bro, as you replied got reply from JioFiber customer care that we can move to Non OTT Plan. But if you want to move again to OTT Plans then have to pay Rs.1000.

A year back, I also tried to move from an OTT plan to a non-OTT plan, but customer care told me it was not possible and asked me to disconnect the connection and get a new one with a non-OTT plan. I had to go this way.

I have checked Jio's official website, which states 398 plan is available (198 plan is not available for new connection). Is there anyone on the forum using 398 plan? Then he/she may be able to check whether it is possible to return the STB and downgrade to 198 plan. Though 198 plan is discontinued, those who have booked it prior to discontinuation are still using it (including me on one of my places). As I want the same benefits on my other place (my use case is only to remotely monitor CCTV footages), I want to know is there any workaround to get the 198 plan, my probable assumption is to book the 398 plan then downgrade it to 198.
