Several references in the Android source code give a strong indication that Android 8.0 will be very likely codenamed ‘oatmeal cookie’. In the source code we found references to ‘oc-dev’ which is in line with former branch names used by Google. Earlier it was revealed that Android O 8.0 may be called as Oreo
Oatmeal cookie used on one of the slides in Google I/O. Might be the name of the next Android
Google could be currently trying to get permission to use the “Oreo” name and is using “oc” as a fallback/placeholder in case Google doesn’t get the green light to use it. The presentation slide could just be Google trolling us big time and “oc” is probably “Oreo cookie”, after all.
