I am in dilemma while purchasing a new phone. Though AMOLED screens add punchy colours and great contrast, they are notorious for burn in. As I had a scary experience of status and navigation bar burn in on AMOLED screen of my old Samsung phone 2-3 years previously, I am bit hesitant to purchase a phone with AMOLED screen. Can Fellow members enlighten me and share their experiences so as to help me choose my next phone wisely?

Without any doubt AMOLED is best ..no reason to choose ips display in today 's time..due to advancement in technology i dont think in today's time you will face screen burn in with AMOLED disply that issues was seen long time back when AMOLED screens was very new for smartphones

AMOLED display is amazing for Video watching. Although I never used AMOLED display (Samsung) phone.
My next phone will have to be a AMOLED display phone.

Go for an AMOLED phone that has a resolution of 1080p at least (Full HD/Full HD+). My experience with the Galaxy S3 AMOLED panel was meh, but on S4, the colors were damn too good. Since then, I'm back to LCD screen phones, but am planning to upgrade soon.

Possibly I will go for the Oneplus 7T, if it has at least an ultrawide or telephoto lens..

But even flagship phones are also plagued by burn in as seen on one plus 7 pro community forums and even note 9. And I am not going to invest in flagship models given new strides phones are going to make in next year. So do midrange phones have good quality AMOLED screens? Is rough use culprit of burn in? Has any forum member has faced burn in and why? And what steps should one take to avoid it?
