No. Amazon app uses web wrapper based rendering to display elements. It does need server side update unlike other native mobile apps. If you see, amazon also changed buttons from shadowed ones to flat ones a while back without need of app update.

When I see the change of color, I update the amazon app, then theme becomes normal again.
