Yes correct however we (at least most of us) don't share passwords for our home Wifi or for our email accounts with these companies. And Passwords may be required or asked to set up the phone at the doorstep by the service personnel.The risk is real but when you already gave your name, address and mobile number to ecommerce companies this is the extended part of the same to avail the service. In name of data privacy how your data is being used is already questionable with some of the big name companies. Yes there is always a risk but to avail a service you need to compromise.
Unaware of the potential risks and unaware of the level of compromise they are doing to get this so-called PAID Service, some people can share the passwords.
All I am saying is that in the time we are living, when quirky cyber frauds are at their peak, unawarely sharing Password data (which is core and critical information for anyone) with any XYZ person can result in catastrophic loss.
