Amazon said the acquisition is primarily based on the Intellectual Properties that the brand own. They must have seen value in that probably to reboot or something. Lets see how it pans out

I think it's a waste of a deal. Rather than MGM, They should have went for Studio Ghibli or DC. MGM is waste of money. While Studio Ghibli has a brand value none other have. And DC will have many sequal, Prequel in future. It could have been Marvel for Prime.
