Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited on Monday August 6, has removed all content from Reliance owned Jio Digital Services, after failing to reach an agreement on pricing. According to media reports, this includes content from thirty-five live TV channels and more than two lakh hours of video-on-demand content. This move has subsequently ended the multi-year contract the two companies had entered into in 2016.
On Tuesday, all of the 35 ZEE channels, which included Zee Tv, Zee Cinema and Zee Marathi among others, were switched off on the live Jio TV app. Zee had also removed its content library of non-air shows and movies via the Jio Cinema app, which was also a part of the their agreement.
