I do not think Zee5 content will be dropped from airtel platform unless Amazon signs an exclusive deal with them. Zee can very well continue to enter into agreements with multiple players like they r doing right now for grabbing more eyeballs for their content.

As mentioned in article too, there is difference between creating content and having expertise in distributing thru OTT mode. Zee is pioneer in content creation but has limitations in ability to run a OTT platform on larger scale. They need a partner for digital expansion which is why they r looking for an international partner to have sizeable footprint on new age entertainment mediums

Amazon Prime will try make exclusive deal with ZEE like ALT Balaji, but Airtel already giving Amazon Prime for High revenue customers.

Another thing i have noticed is that Live TV channel feeds on airtel xstream is now sourced from a separate transmission facility. Earlier airtel was uplinking its DTH feeds on their OTT platform.

Either they r having some big plans for Live TV feature thru OTT platform or maybe they r shifting headend to new location and made first move towards that on its OTT mode

Hi everyone. Need some info

Is it beneficial and recommended to update the Airtel TV app to the Airtel XStream app or better to be on the old Airtel TV app?
Also, same for myAirtel app....is it recommended to update to the new Airtel Thanks app or better to be on the old myAirtel app?

Personally I recommend you install the Airtel Xstream app. There are functionally no differences between the two apps. Similarly for My Airtel and Airtel Thanks.
