You will be soon receiving text sms on next month for we are upgrading your plan with other benefits an pricing. You have to pay for what they asked with new additions or removable benefits. As it's Airtel.

I think price hikes as we already heard news about Airtel need more ARPU and their network sticky focus on Zen Z generations for 4G, 5G and broadbands features will be coming later in Dec 2025. Since, it's monopoly we can see more price hikes in other's telecom service providers.

Airtel Wi-Fi hikes as they are invested in Apple TV+ to spread more TV+ content on Android users's and 200 mpbs plan is removed coz i don't think there are many people's who basically use 200+ unless you are a content creator but 100 Mbps is having more users in every state of India.

But it is fundamentally wrong to start waging an authoritarian war with the customers. But again their tnc and other legalities are coming into the way. Soon matters will start getting out of hand.

It's going to be discontinued from 23rd April 2025 as @Vicky bro shared on the other thread.

@Bapun bro, I didn’t waste any time recharging my Excitel plan after reading this post 😐. Airtel has become such a disappointment — it's getting more and more expensive for me every day. I was actually waiting for their IPTV service to launch in Delhi, but not anymore. Airtel is officially out of my budget now.

Are they really expecting people to pay Rs 1199 + GST for just 100 Mbps in today’s world where ISPs are constantly competing on speed and value? Let’s compare:

I just recharged Excitel’s 400 Mbps Platinum plan for Rs 5727 (including GST) for 6 months — that’s Rs 955 per month. What do I get?
  • 400 Mbps truly unlimited internet (no FUP),
  • All major OTT platforms (except Netflix and Apple TV+),
  • Access to Ulka TV IPTV app with all major channels (I’ve made a separate thread about this too).
Now compare that to Airtel:
They’re charging Rs 1414/month for:
  • 100 Mbps internet with a 3.3TB FUP,
  • An IPTV box,
  • OTT apps including Netflix and Apple TV+ (which honestly, many of us don’t even care much about).

Is this price tag really justifiable? Even Rs 1000/month would be too much for what they’re offering. If they removed the OTT apps I don’t want, then Rs 1000/month for 100 Mbps + IPTV and some mid-tier OTTs like Zee5, SonyLIV, or JioHotstar would be fair. But Rs 1414 for this combo is just insane.

I’m honestly very happy with Excitel now. It gives me the smoothest browsing experience — way better than Airtel or Jio! Plus, it has the best routing for Cloudflare-hosted websites. For example, OnlyTech is always routed via Mumbai (BOM) on Excitel, whereas Airtel or Jio weirdly route it through places like the Netherlands or Singapore — which makes no sense. With Excitel, latency to Delhi/NCR is just 2–3 ms, and to nearby countries like Singapore, it’s around 40-50 ms (which is exactly what AirFiber provides to your nearest data centers).

As for service, Excitel is decent too — it rarely goes down, and when it does, I just call my LCO and they show up at my door within 10 minutes. Same thing when I raise a complaint through the Excitel portal.

Your explanation completely makes sense to me, bro!

However, national level ISPs are operating throughout the country with the same pricing whereas Excitel/ACT etc. are available in select states/cities only with area specific pricing. For this reason, national level ISPs pricing are higher than local or regional players. The good thing is national ISPs are charging the same price across the country.

With all that said, I am also against the removal of 200 Mbps plan and the pricing of Rs. 1199 plan is not worth of what it offers. Sadly, Excitel or Tata Play Fiber are not available in my city so I can not think of trying them either.

Personally, I have been using Airtel Fiber + IPTV for around 15+ days now and I can say that the internet link uptime, browsing experience and IPTV experience is simply fantastic. Since the internet experience is better than my alternate ISP, JioFiber, I would continue with Airtel Fiber for the time being. But the pricing also matters and Airtel has been charging a premium for their service so many may not like to opt it anymore. 🤷
